At Orchid Springs Dental, we are committed to providing each patient with positive and effective dental treatment. To help your initial appointment go smoothly, we have compiled a list of important items and information to bring with you to your first appointment, as well as a description of what to expect during your visit.
What to Expect
Your initial appointment will likely consist of the following:
- Comprehensive examination including head and neck cancer screening
- Charting of existing conditions
- Digital xrays
- Professional dental cleaning
- Review of your dental needs
After your examination, Dr. Vu will explain your diagnosis and treatment options. She will also answer any questions you may have. Some patients will receive a standard cleaning to thoroughly cleanse all surfaces of the teeth of plaque and tartar buildup. Other patients may require more intensive treatment to address cavities, tooth pain, diseased gums, or other dental problems. With your x-rays and comprehensive evaluation, Dr. Vu can recommend the treatment necessary to optimize your dental health.
What to Bring
We will gather important information from you during your first visit that will help us best serve your needs. To ensure that we are able to provide the best care possible, please bring the following:
- List of current medications
Please alert the staff if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to dental treatment (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, etc.) or if you are on any heart medication (i.e. aspirin, anticoagulants, etc.)
- Insurance information
- List of questions or concerns that you may have regarding your treatment
All new patients will need to fill out the New Patient form. We encourage you to print and complete them prior to your first appointment. For your convenience, you can access Notice of Privacy Practices and Dental Material Fact Sheet below.
